Are you doing all the right things to lose weight and you are still finding it difficult to shed pounds?

You may be sabotaging yourself by getting up in the middle of the night to have a snack.

Recent study from Northwestern University Center for Sleep and Circadian Biology shows that irregular eating habits caused certain people to be overweight.

Skipping breakfast and eating snacks after dinner is when people with night eating syndrome consume their majority of calories.

So you must AVOID eating snacks in the middle of the night but don’t think you can still eat snacks that are high in fat during the day. Instead, eat some fruit if you are craving a snack.

To LEARN HOW TO EAT IN THE REAL WORLD AND STILL LOSE WEIGHT please visit www.drharryloseweight.comto get more details.

Sometimes eating habits can be hard to change, wouldn’t you agree?

This is one of the reasons why so many people have trouble sticking to their weight loss goals. But this doesn’t mean it’s hard.

A recent study shows that portion sizes have TRIPLED over the past several years. You need to understand how the portion size you are eating is contributing to your weight.

If your portions of high fat, calorie dense foods, with low thermic effect are high, you are on course to gain weight.

On the other hand, if your portion sizes are large, but with high mass, low fat, high thermic effect foods, you are less likely to gain weight, and not starve in the process.

You can also balance out the two strategies by proportioning your meals, mixing larger amounts of high thermic foods on the plate, and smaller amounts of the calorically dense foods on the plate.

This way you satisfy both objectives, have the foods you like, and satisfy your appetite.

This is a learning process, but worth mastering

How to proportion your plate, eat as much as you want or anything you want is a lifetime skill. It’s worth learning because it can keep you thin.

I go into much more detail in my book. You can download my FREE book at www.drharryloseweight.com

You may have been told to stay away from your favorite goodies such as ice cream or a slice of chocolate cake.

Question : Do you have to stop eating your favorite foods to lose weight.

The answer is No, ( but it can depend on you,)

If you have no control on your food impulses, e.g. you start binge eating ice cream till the whole tub is gone. You may have to avoid this food, till you overcome, and gain control on this food.

You can still eat your goodies as long you don’t over indulge. You must control the portion size. You can eat ice cream but not the whole tub

Secondly, if you have caloric awareness, and know how to balance your calories, you can make allowances for your favorite foods, and eat them.

After all, life would genuinely suck, if you had to eat “diet food” for the rest of your life.

Weight loss is about regaining control on your eating. Once you’ve gained it, you can eat what you like.

“There are no forbidden foods just forbidden portions in the case of some foods”.

THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION YOU MUST CONSIDER.

You lost the weight that you wanted to. CONGRATULATIONS, but it’s not over yet. You still have to maintain the weight that you lost.

Now if you followed a sustainable weight loss program than it shouldn’t be hard keep the weight off, You just keep doing what you’re doing.. But if you went on a fad diet, losing 4-5 lbs a week by starving yourself, then it is likely you will gain the weight back, probably even more.

Let’s just assume that you did adopt a healthier life style and you did not choose a non-sustainable fad diet.

You need to continue those healthy eating habits that helped you lose those pounds.

If you want to prevent gaining the weight back don’t go back to how you used to eat.

Instead, keep evolving your knowledge on weightloss, and how to stay thin.

Don’t skip meals because it will cause you to overeat later in the day. Monitor your weight by weighing at least once every 2 days, so that you can nip little weight gains in the bud, and continue to exercise.

Remember, weight loss is all about adopting a healthier lifstyle and not going on a fad diet for a week.

Question: What’s likely to happen if you go to the grocery store on an empty stomach?

It’s likely that you will be craving for certain kinds of foods. Usually these are the kinds of foods that led you to be overweight in the first place.

Losing weight is not about eating 100% health food all the time, BUT NEITHER IS IT ABOUT STUFFING YOURSELF WITH JUNK ALL THE TIME EITHER.

You need to learn to shift the predominance of what you eat so that it helps you get to weight loss goal, and keep you healthy to enjoy it.

There are no forbidden foods, but in some cases when you don’t have control, there can be forbidden portions.

Do you have a medical condition that is causing you to gain weight.

Hypothyroidism is a condition that causes your metabolism to slow down and as a result you can gain weight. Even though some people may have this condition they can help themselves by eating HIGH THERMIC EFFECT FOODS.

Prescription drugs can also contribute to weight problems.

There are some, but not all prescription drugs that treat depression, mood disorders, seizures, migraines, blood pressure, and diabetes that can cause you to gain as much as 10 pounds per month. However, Not all prescription drugs have the same side effects.

Here is a list of some medications that may cause weight gain; Steroids, Antidepressants, Antipsychotics, Antiseizure medications, Diabetes medications, High blood pressure medications, and Heartburn medications. If medications are causing you to gain weight don’t stop taking your medication because it can be dangerous to your health.

You should talk to your doctor about how you can help control your weight.

When you think about the word “DIET” what comes to your mind? STARVATION, HUNGER, DEPRIVATION, EXERCISING, FRUITS and VEGETABLES.These may be some of the things you immediately start to think about. But you also may think about how hard it’s going to be to lose the weight you want.

“X” amount of pounds is what you want to lose, but what ends up happening is that you never get started, and you continue to eat the same way that is causing you to stay overweight, and not happy.

You can overcome this. First decide how many pounds you plan on losing. A realistic goal is to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week, and you should be able to stick to this pace.

Then get knowledge about how to lose weight and live thin diet free in the real world.

Learn how not to starve yourself.

You see, losing the pounds at a pace you can maintain, and stick to, is better than losing 10lbs really fast, and then gaining all the weight back, because you could not stick to the plan.

It can be easier if you understand the simple rules to weight loss. I talk more in detail about losing weight in the world and how you will NEVER have to go ON A DIET AGAIN at www.drharryweightloss.com

The people who fail at reaching their weight loss goals isn’t always because they were on the wrong weight loss program. Sometimes it can be because they didn’t have a friend to join them on their weight loss journey.

In 2005 there was a research article published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. It stated that many people who were successful at losing weight had an EXERCISE BUDDY.

Let’s face it, losing weight can be a rough journey if you are doing it by yourself.

There can be many peaks and valleys in this journey.

But if you have a friend to join you, and he or she is also trying to lose weight with you, then it can make the journey a lot easier because you both can go to the gym together, and eat healthier foods and keep each other accountable.

If you are planning to be successful in your journey try finding a buddy to join you. If you are having trouble finding someone try visiting www.Dietbuddy.com. It’s an online service that helps you find weight loss partners. On top of having a weight loss buddy, develop a support group of family and friends.
